March 3, 2020 A Daily Occurrence

I registered The Boy for Grade 12 yesterday.GRADE 12. That can't be right, yet it is in actual fact correct. The ladies at the registration table didn't miss it either; "this is your last registration day right?" A couple have kids graduated and moving along in adult life. The others still wiping snotty noses and picking up transformers off the floors at home {do the kids still play transformers?}
"It goes fast", they used to say to me; the older mothers a few years ahead of me. I would laugh and nod my head, but the realization of it was not computing fully. Some days I reminisce about when my friends and I would get all the kids together and watch/hear the giggles/laughter while they jumped on the trampoline/rode bikes in the driveway. All the while we would be sipping on our coffees chatting about......all the things. Hold your babies tight. Because one day you will be registering them for Grade 12 and realizing that "it" did go fast and you are not quite ready........
